Legendary Ghanaian traditional and contemporary music composer, Michael Adangba, has been honoured by TV3’s Media General for his outstanding contribution to Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB), following his composition of the pageant’s first and longest-serving official theme song.
The recognition was presented during the launch of the 20th anniversary edition of Ghana’s Most Beautiful, held on August 2, 2026, in Accra.
Presenting the citation, Media General’s General Manager, Beatrice Agyemang, commended the veteran musician for his exceptional dedication and invaluable service to the flagship beauty pageant over the years.
The citation read: “In recognition of your exceptional dedication and invaluable service to Ghana’s Most Beautiful, Media General is proud to honour you, Mr. Michael Adangba. Your professionalism, innovation, creation of the very first GMB theme song, and steadfast commitment have contributed immensely to the growth, credibility, and enduring success of our iconic programme.”
It further stated, “Through your hard work behind the scenes and unwavering pursuit of excellence, you have helped create a legacy that continues to inspire audiences across Ghana and beyond. Your contribution forms an unforgettable chapter in the remarkable journey of Ghana’s Most Beautiful. With heartfelt appreciation, we honour your enduring and distinguished service.”
Receiving the honour, Michael Adangba expressed profound appreciation to Media General, describing the recognition as both unexpected and deeply meaningful.
“I am truly honoured and deeply grateful for this rare recognition. It came as a surprise, making it even more meaningful,” he said.
Reflecting on his musical journey, the celebrated composer noted that he has always focused on serving society through music rather than pursuing awards.
“Since I began my music journey at age 17, I have composed songs for organisations, individuals, and society without ever seeking awards. I’ve always believed that if recognition is deserved, it will come naturally,” he added.
The launch ceremony also featured the debut performance of the Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026 official theme song, composed by Michael Adangba in collaboration with his daughter, Enam, marking another milestone in his long-standing relationship with the prestigious cultural pageant.

Michael Adangba’s latest recognition adds to his legacy as one of Ghana’s most respected indigenous music composers, whose works have continued to shape national events and celebrate the country’s rich cultural heritage.
