Kacstone Record’s has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, education, and community development with the commissioning of a fully furnished standard volleyball court for Paga Senior High School (Paga SHS) in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region.
The facility was officially unveiled during a colourful ceremony attended by government officials, education authorities, traditional leaders, students, sports enthusiasts, and members of the local community. The event marked another significant milestone in Kacstone Record’s corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at creating opportunities for young people through sports and education.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of Kacstone Record’s, Mr. Wenawome D. Aborah, Mr. Raymond Addah emphasized the company’s belief in the transformative power of sports and its role in shaping the future of young people.
He noted that Kacstone Record’s selected Paga SHS for the intervention after identifying longstanding infrastructure and welfare challenges that have negatively impacted student enrolment, discipline, and academic performance over the years.
“Sports play a critical role in the holistic development of students. Beyond physical fitness, sports promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and academic excellence. Through this project, we seek to provide students with an environment that nurtures both educational and sporting success.” He stated.
The newly commissioned volleyball court forms part of Kacstone Record’s broader vision of supporting educational institutions with infrastructure and programmes that enhance student development and create pathways for talent discovery.
As part of the event, Kacstone Record’s also donated a range of sporting equipment to support athletics, volleyball, and physical education activities within the school. The presentation was led by celebrated traditional musician and Kacstone Record’s lead artiste, Michael Adangba, whose presence inspired students and sports enthusiasts alike.
In addition to the infrastructure investment, Kacstone Record’s used the platform to advocate for the advancement of Paga SHS by appealing to the Government of Ghana, through the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, to consider upgrading the school to a boarding institution.
According to the company, granting boarding status would significantly improve student discipline, increase enrolment, enhance academic performance, and reduce the challenges associated with the current day-school system. The company further indicated that such a move would provide students with better access to accommodation and feeding facilities while creating a more structured environment for learning.
The District Chief Executive for Kassena-Nankana West, Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurugo, commended Kacstone Record’s for its investment in the educational sector, describing the project as a timely intervention that would strengthen sports development and contribute to talent identification within the district.
The commissioning ceremony was preceded by an exciting mini volleyball tournament and a cross-country race involving several schools, creating a platform for healthy competition, talent discovery, and community engagement.
