Kacstone Record’s Supports UTAS Public Health Students’ Menstrual Hygiene Campaign with Sanitary Pad Donation

Kacstone Record’s has reaffirmed its commitment to community development and youth empowerment by donating 20 boxes of sanitary towels valued at GHC 6,000 to support a menstrual hygiene campaign organised by the Public Health Students’ Women’s Commission of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Navrongo.

The donation formed part of activities marking this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day and was aimed at helping to address period poverty among schoolgirls in the Kassena Nankana Municipality. The initiative seeks to promote proper menstrual hygiene management while ensuring that adolescent girls have access to essential sanitary products needed to stay in school and participate fully in social and academic activities.

The support was provided following a request from the Women’s Commissioner of the Ghana Association of Public Health Students, who appealed for assistance to strengthen outreach efforts focused on menstrual health awareness and education.

Representing Kacstone Record’s during the presentation, legendary musician and company executive Michael Adangba, together with members of the Kacstone team, officially handed over the 20 boxes of sanitary pads to support the campaign’s activities in basic and senior high schools across the municipality.

Speaking on behalf of the Management of Kacstone Record’s, the company’s Public Relations Officer, Alexander Naaga Bombande, said the donation was inspired by the need to address period poverty, a challenge that continues to affect the education, confidence, and wellbeing of many young girls.

“At Kacstone Record’s, we believe that no girl should be denied education or opportunities because she cannot afford basic menstrual hygiene products. Addressing period poverty is not only a health issue but also a matter of dignity, equality, and social development,” he said.

Mr. Bombande noted that many schoolgirls miss classes or withdraw from social and extracurricular activities during their menstrual cycles due to limited access to sanitary products. He stressed the need for families, government institutions, development partners, and corporate organisations to work together to address menstrual hygiene challenges and create supportive environments for girls.

He further emphasized that menstrual hygiene products should be viewed as essential necessities rather than luxury items, calling for increased awareness and collective action to ensure that every girl can manage her menstrual health safely and confidently.

As a company dedicated to talent development, cultural advancement, and social impact, Kacstone Record’s remains committed to supporting initiatives that improve lives, promote education, and empower vulnerable groups within communities. The company believes that investing in the wellbeing of young people is critical to building stronger, healthier, and more inclusive societies.

Through partnerships with educational institutions, community organisations, and development stakeholders, Kacstone Record’s continues to contribute to meaningful interventions that create lasting positive change across Ghana.
